The Work Study Program Overview
Cristo Rey San José provides students from underserved communities in the region with a rigorous college prep education and a unique Work Study program in which students work in Silicon Valley companies. The work study program not only helps students offset the cost of their tuition, but also provides them with valuable work skills, instills accountability and confidence, and offers access to positive, professional role models. Partners receive well-trained, reliable workers for primarily administrative and clerical jobs and a proven resource to enhance workforce diversity.
The fees generated by the students’ work account for about 50% of the cost of their tuition. During the 2019-20 academic year, CRSJ students will earn more than $3.2 million toward their own education.
Cristo Rey Network Schools are the only high schools in the country that integrate four years of rigorous college preparatory academics with four years of professional work experience through the Corporate Work Study Program.
