About Kenneth Monreal

Kenneth Monreal was born in Madera, California and attended Catholic school for his K-12 education. He attended California State University, Fresno, where he obtained a B.A. in History. Afterwards, Kenneth joined PLACE (Partners in Los Angeles Catholic Education) program through Loyola Marymount University. He spent two years teaching middle school math and social studies at a Jesuit elementary school in Hollywood, CA. At Loyola Marymount University, he earned a Master’s degree in Secondary Education.

The reason Kenneth chose to come to Cristo Rey is because of the Ignatian values embedded throughout the school life and Corporate Work Study Program. He sees great value in this program as he has held a job since the 6th grade. He truly believes in the opportunity to experience work both in the classroom and outside in the workforce because of the values it instills in the student population. He teaches 9th and 10th grade World History here at Cristo Rey San José.
