About Stephanie Blumenson

As a child, Ms. Blumenson's father was in the military. Because of that, she had the opportunity to live in a variety of places in the United States, and in Germany and Venezuela. All of this moving and traveling as a child caused Ms. Blumenson to become very interested in history and world affairs. Ms. Blumenson's family settled in the South Bay and she attend middle school at St. Clare's in Santa Clara and is a proud graduate of Archbishop Mitty High School.

Ms. Blumenson went up north to attend the University of Portland where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Upon graduation, she immediately went to graduate school, where she was a participant in the University of Portland's Pacific Alliance for Catholic Education (PACE). While in PACE, Ms. Blumenson lived and taught in a suburb of Salt Lake City, Utah for two years. After earning her Masters in Education with an emphasis in Reading, Ms. Blumenson returned to Portland, Oregon. She taught at a Catholic high school and was the Director of Christian Service over the past six years.

In 2012, while still working in Portland, Ms. Blumenson began a second Masters degree through the University of Notre Dame's Alliance for Catholic Education (ACE). She graduated with a Masters in Catholic Educational Leadership in 2014 and was excited to return to her hometown.

Ms. Blumenson felt that coming to Cristo Rey was providential. She has a strong desire to work with students who come from low-income families and are first generation college bound. Additionally, Ms. Blumenson strongly believes in Catholic education; especially the great impact it has on urban communities. Ms. Blumenson felt that Cristo Rey was the perfect fit for her!
