Saturday was a beautiful day for the class of 2020 to come together for a day-long retreat to reflect on faith and friendship. Students participated in the retreat at the Mexican Heritage Plaza in San Jose where they shared in small groups and as a community about their life experiences and their hopes and fears about starting their high school journey. The Freshman Retreat is an exceptionally important part of the year, where students come together as a community and learn about their peers. It also introduces the retreat experience to many students who have not experienced one before. All Cristo Rey students participate in a spiritual retreat yearly. Sophomore year the retreat is an overnight experience, and Junior year the retreat is a 2-night experience. We are especially grateful to the staff and faculty who make days like Saturday possible, especially Martina and Kim for organizing, and Stephanie, Joe A., Mary Clare, Kelly, Bianca, Matt, Michael, Jose, Chris and Billy for being genuine and present for our students.
