Community Service at Via West and Valley Pines!

This past weekend 26 Cristo Rey students participated in Christian Service experiences. On Saturday, December 5th freshmen students helped create a winter wonderland at Via West's Camp for Kids With Disabilities. They accompanied participants in making Christmas ornaments, decorating cookies, and drinking hot cocoa. Their last task of the day was to turn the meadow into a snow-covered playground for the kids and the camp's "Operation Snowflake." On Sunday, sophomore students visited Valley Pines Senior Assisted Living Home. Many new friends were made as our students chatted about life and listened to Christmas music with the residents. Christian Service is an important part of living out our school's mission of creating "men and women for others."  Each time our students engage in service we are impressed by their maturity, agency, and generosity.
