About Todd Hicks

Todd Hicks has made his way from one coast to the other, and across the Pacific. Living in different parts of the United States, and serving in the Peace Corps in Tonga, has given Todd an appreciation for exploring new horizons. He is excited to share his curiosity and enthusiasm with the Cristo Rey community as the Director of College Counseling. Prior to joining Cristo Rey, Todd spent two years as a college counselor for Bellarmine College Preparatory, and six years as Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admission at the Santa Clara University.

Todd earned his Bachelors degree in psychology at the University of Northern Colorado, where he was very active in student leadership activities. He loved his undergraduate experience and stayed on campus after graduating as a resident director and student activities advisor.  During his time in Colorado he also started a business that allowed him to travel around the state and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity’s Global Village program.  He has climbed 26 of the 14,000 ft. peaks in Colorado, and has coordinated soft-term mission trips in Alaska, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Botswana, Trinidad, Guyana, and New Zealand.

Wanting to have a greater impact in a single community, he became a Peace Corps Volunteer and taught information technology classes at a secondary school in Tonga. Upon returning to the states, Todd earned a Masters degree in Public Administration. Todd is currently in the process of completing the U.C. Berkeley Certificate in College Admissions and Career Planning.

When not talking with students or visiting colleges, Todd enjoys backpacking with his wife and son.
